  • This purebred club mixer has truly raised the bar in terms of club audio quality. It's also quickly become the mixer of choice for many of the world's greatest DJs, thanks to its pristine sound, its phenomenal VCF filters and its creative 4 band EQ. Club owners - if you want to know how good your big-money speaker system could sound, try it with a Xone:62.
  • Inputs: Xone:62 weighs in with an impressive 6 dual stereo channels, with 2 inputs (a and b) on each one adding up to a massive 12 stereo inputs. A range of connectors allow use of up to 4 turntables, 2 mics, keyboards, samplers, CD players, minidisks and pretty much anything else that you might want to bring into your mix. The more bands of EQ you have, the more creative you can get with your mix - that's why xone:62 gives you 4 eq controls rather than the usual 3. See the eq page for more details. If you use an FX unit, or if you want to provide a zone or other special feed, the mixer has an auxiliary send, with routing and pre/post fade switches on every channel. The crossfade can also be fed to the aux mix via a dedicated knob. Xone is designed for immediate, intuitive use in club environments. Colour coded led's show you exactly where the channel is being sent. You also get chunky illuminated cue switches, a 4 bar signal level meter on every channel (great for beat and level matching) and a top quality 60mm fader
  • Outputs: Twin 12 bar led meters give a clear picture of output levels The headphone output is extremely powerful - if you've ever had a mixer that's feeble in this area, you'll know how important this is. A split cue feature lets you hear the main mix in one ear and a cue in the other. Pressing this switch also splits the main meters, so you see and hear exactly how the track you're cueing works with the one you're playing. The booth monitor output can be switched to mono or stereo. There is also a mute switch for your monitor, plus an aux output monitoring facility. A dedicated recording output following the main mix lets you make high quality mixtapes and demos. The main stereo output fader is a premium quality, smooth-travel 100mm design.
  • VCF Filters: These filters are unique to the xones. The filtered sound is a favourite with producers - now dj's can add it to any track without taking their hands off the mixer. the vcf's are a modern version of the filters you find on classic analogue synths. Xone:62 has 2 vcf's (voltage control filters)- one rotary on each side of the crossfade, with an on/off switch and light, allowing effects to be punched in and out of the mix. There is also a bank of switches to change the filter type from low-pass to high-pass, band-pass, notch filter, all-pass etc. All filter types have been chosen for their musicality, even when used at full strength. A resonance knob allows the filter effect to be set or swept from subtle to extreme overall, the vcf's form an incredibly powerful live fx toolkit which is simple to use and which can breathe new life into any mix.
  • EQ: The xones have 4 bands of eq on their stereo channels, rather than the 3 bands you normally find on club mixers. The extra band is a lower-mid set at 250Hz, giving you control over bass texture as well as volume. A speaker-friendly +6dB of boost and massive -24dB of cut are provided by each band, allowing you to eliminate whole frequencies (much more sophisticated than kills), or to make subtle adjustments. Eq on/off switching lets you compare the eq'd sound with the original, and to punch settings in/out of the mix.
  • Build Quality: The xones have been built using the same concepts and standards as allen & heath's pro studio and touring consoles, such as the gl4000. Depend on a&h for reliability and long life. For extra peace-of-mind, there is a dedicated tech support service, providing quick, free advice - regardless of whether the mixer is 29 days or 29 years old.
  • Panel-mounted controls: Each rotary control is securely bolted to the front panel by a stainless steel nut. This has a number of big advantages: 1. The nut creates a seal around the control which can help in preventing potentially harmful liquids, dust etc from entering the console. 2. If an item is dropped on the control surface, the impact is more likely to be transferred harmlessly through the knobs to the front panel and dissipated through the chassis without damage to the electronics. 3. The feel of the console is much more reassuring as there is no 'give' in the knob when it is rotated. Some competitor consoles use controls which are not panel-mounted, resulting in gaps, vulnerability to impact damage, and the dreaded 'pot wobble'.
  • Individual circuit boards: Each input and output consists of a single circuit board, mounted at 90 degrees to the control surface. 1. In the event of damage or routine maintenance, a module can be easily removed and serviced while the rest of the console remains operable. 2. Should liquid get into the console, it is likely to run off the module away from the vital electronics. On some competitor mixers, horizontal boards containing many or all of the channel circuits are used - so the whole mixer will be out-of-action during servicing and any liquid will be retained on the circuit board, potentially damaging several channels at once.
